The ban-hammer vs. the Blog-hammer

So after what was a very nice day of day of shopping and getting out in the sunshine and feeling like normal people for once what do I wake up to? My Partner Ivey crying her eyes out... Why? Because of being held pretty much at gunpoint by a blogger. My strong empowered girl reduced to tears over what? This. http://pennelopethiessam.wordpress.com/2010/05/16/to-post-or-not-to-post/ The avatar Pennelope Thiessam has decided that a sim ban, a personal ban done by ME for personal reasons is such an atrocity, censorship, outrage that her and her friends needs to attack, anyone and everyone she can. My partner, every store on my sims, the operator of 69L humpdays, and as far as I can tell anyone and anything she can. I wake up to things so bad that not only is Ivey in tears but she has unbanned Pennelope Thiessam from our sims. So you know what Penn, you win. Your Blog-hammer is clearly bigger than my ban-hammer. After I post this I am going in world to clear out my ban list, and then proply throw up. I guess I just have no right to have control over the regions I pay the lindens $780US a month to. A bloggers rights to tell me I have no balls are just more important than mine to not want her around. So I hope you are happy Ms Self Appointed SL Quality Control Coordinator, you win.

  1. Ya know, a person only has as much power as you give them. Pennelope who? Ban who you want.

  2. Seriously, any participant in Themory, Humpday, or 50L Friday should ban this wretched cunt and her friends.

  3. Since it is that Pennelope twat, I won't follow that link. I refuse to give her any more traffic. I said my piece, once, several weeks ago, in comments on her blog. I won't visit it again for any reason. I didn't bother checking to see if she replied to my comment.

However, I will give you some wholly unsolicited advice: You're playing into her crap. Ignore her, don't visit her site, don't acknowledge her existence. Your outrage, and Ivey's tears, are lifeblood to her. As is are the outrage and tears of others.

    Ask yourself these questions:

Do you honestly believe that her trashing anyone has a bit relevance? Do you believe she matters? Is your opinion of the SL populace so low that you think people who read her poorly written, self-important ramblings will stop shopping somewhere because of her immature, ill-considered opinions?

She cries censorship, but free speech is only a right that guarantees that an individual or congregation of individuals can speak there mind without censure by the GOVERNMENT. Which is only goes to further illustrate her lack of knowledge, and her own over-inflated sense of self.

Second Life is not a democracy. It is, in fact, a collection of (mostly) benevolent dictatorships.

Ban whomever. It's your money, your time, your fiefdom.

  5. Hey all look I felt this is the best move left open to me. If her and her friends were only attacking Ivey and I fine we can take that. It't really all the spillover to others that we can't take. So she and her friends think the ban gave them power? Fine. Now they have none. For real bring it on now. She is back to being a simple hatefull little blogger. She thinks everything I and my friends make is crap good for her. She has nothing else to talk about. Oddly enough unbanning her takes all her "power" away.

And Kat, for Goddess sakes You know I'm the worst speller in the known universe, never apologize for typos here, lol

  8. She does have the right to write whatever she feels like, equally landowners have the right to allow or ban anyone they feel like, you cannot bellow your rights to the first and whine about the latter.

However I believe the best option is don't click, don't acknowledge and starve her of the oxygen of attention, by responding and calling her out on her behaviour (and yes I believe taking photos of vendors and saying 'its shit' is not honest, just cheap snark) you are just encouraging her.
